Classes

The Obedience Club of Asheville offers obedience training sessions to the public. We assign space on a first come, first served basis. Classes fill up fast, so we recommend submitting your application as soon as possible.

All dogs must be current on vaccinations as recommended by their veterinarian. No handler may be under the age of 12 without prior approval of the training director.

OBEDIENCE CLASSES
Puppy/Beginner: Learn basic obedience skills including sit, down, come, stay, walking on leash and other basic dog information. Your puppy will receive manners training and socialization.

Adult/Advanced: The goal of this class is to improve your basic skills and to make your pet easier to live with. You will continue to work on the sit, down, come and stay and controlled walking on leash. All exercises necessary for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test will be taught and the CGC test will be offered following the last class session. This class is for dogs of all ages. You may take this class more than one time.

Club Class: This class is for members and potential members who are interested in showing their dogs in competition. This class will expand your handling and obedience skills as required in obedience competition. Learn about the various titling classes and address your goals.

Any student interested in furthering their knowledge and their dog’s skills are welcome to join the Obedience Club of Asheville and participate in the Club Class.
