"A well trained dog is a happy dog"
Obedience Training results in a canine companion who is fun to live with and with whom you will develop a Special Bond.

The Obedience Club of Asheville sponsors four training sessions per year. These classes fill up early. We assign space on a first come, first serve basis. It is recommended that applications be submitted early for up coming sessions.

All dogs must be current on vaccinations as recommended by their veterinarian. No handler may be under the age of 12 without prior approval of the training director.

OBEDIENCE CLASSES

Puppy  -  (4-7 months): Begin basic obedience such as sit, come, down. We’ll provide lots of information for the handler, lots of learning and socializing

Adolescent  - A class for handlers and dogs to learn skills that will make your pet easier to live with. Skills like sit, stay, down, come, and controlled walking on a leash. All exercises necessary for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test will be taught.

Adult - This class will strengthen the skills learned in beginners as well as add new ones, including the introduction of AKC Novice exercises.

Pre-Novice - For the dog and handler who are interested in showing their dogs in competition. This class will begin to form your handling and obedience skills as required in the show ring.
